Andalusia Student Tour

9 Days — 7 Nights
DAY 1: USA | SPAIN
  • Fly overnight to Málaga, Spain, capital of the “Costa del Sol.”

DAY 2: COSTA DEL SOL
  • Bienvenidos a España! Your Spanish Forum Tour Manager will greet you at the airport in Málaga and help you transfer to your hotel on the Costa del Sol.

  • Check into your hotel, then enjoy some free time in the afternoon to settle in with your group before enjoying a welcome dinner at your hotel.

DAY 3: DAY TRIP TO MALAGA
  • After breakfast at your hotel, spend the day in Málaga. Located in the Costa del Sol, Málaga is known as a vibrant port city and the birthplace of Pablo Picasso.

  • Visit the Alcazaba, an Arab palace-fortress built during the 11th century with beautiful ceramic artwork on display. Then, climb up the hill to Gibralfaro Castle and admire spectacular views of the city and sea.

  • Next, follow your Tour Manager on a walking tour of Málaga. Visit the iconic Plaza de la Merced and see Picasso’s birthplace. Admire the ruins of the partially-excavated Roman Amphitheater, and see Málaga’s Renaissance Cathedral, or as the locals call it, La Manquita, meaning “The One-Armed Lady.”

  • Stroll along the seafront promenade of Muelle Uno lined with local restaurants and shops.

  • After, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise around the bay of Málaga. Admire the panoramic views of the city and coast.

  • Return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 4: DAY TRIP TO SEVILLE
  • After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Seville, capital of Andalusia.  Famous for its orange trees, colorful mosaic plazas, and the birthplace of “sevillana” dance, Seville exemplifies Andalusian culture at its finest.

  • Visit the magnificent Catedral de Sevilla, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, and climb to the top of the Giralda tower, originally constructed as a minaret during the Moorish period, for spectacular views of the city.

     

  • Enjoy a guided walking tour and explore the maze of narrow streets and alleys in Barrio Santa Cruz.

  • Continue to the iconic Plaza de España and enjoy a stroll through Parque María Luisa.

  • Return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 4: COSTA DEL SOL
  • After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy at day at leisure with your group. Relax on the beach or catch-up on some souvenir shopping.

  • Return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 6: DAY TRIP TO CORDOBA
  • Today, visit Córdoba. Once the capital of the Moorish Kingdom of Al-Andalus, Córdoba was a thriving center of art, culture and knowledge during the Middle Ages.

  • Meet your local guide and visit the awe-inspiring Mezquita, a mosque-cathedral originally built in the 8th century. Admire its famous red and white arches, supported by more than 850 vertical columns.

  • Explore the network of narrow streets that make up Córdoba’s Jewish Quarter.

  • After, stop in the charming town of Cabra for a “merienda,” or afternoon snack, of “chocolate con churros.”

  • Stroll through Cabra and see the Río fountain, the palatial castle, and its Baroque churches.

  • Return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 7: DAY TRIP TO GRANADA
  • After breakfast at your hotel, visit Granada. Located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Granada is blessed with Moorish heritage dating back more than 700 years. Meet your local guide who will provide your group with details, highlights, and insights.

  • Visit the Alhambra, the lavish fortress and palace of the Moorish royalty of Granada. They reigned for 780 years, until 1492 when the Kingdom fell to the hands of Catholic monarchs. Its name derives from its Arabic description as “Al-hamra” or “the red one,” attributed to the hue of its outer walls.

  • Explore the Albaicín, Granada’s old Arab quarter. Walk up the “calle de las teterías” to the “Mirador de San Nicolás,” and enjoy the amazing view of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada Mountains.

  • Return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 8: DAY TRIP TO CAMINITO DEL REY & RONDA
  • After breakfast at your hotel, visit the beautiful region of El Chorro.  Take a guided visit through the unforgettable Caminito del Rey, a spectacular route from beginning to end, running through cliffs, canyons, and a colossal valley.

  • In the afternoon, continue on to Ronda. Situated on two hills divided by a deep ravine, Ronda is known to have practically invented modern bullfighting in the late 18th century.

  • Admire the impressive Puente Nuevo from which you will get spectacular views of the Tajo River. Explore this picturesque town at your own pace.

  • Return to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 9: DEPART
  • After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the airport and say good-bye to your Forum Tour Manager before boarding your flight home.
