While living with a host family, you will discover that French is more than a just textbook language as you fully immerse into the daily life of your family and school community. You will apply your language skills in real-life situations, and experience life as a true local.

Meet your ILP representant and drive to Avignon, the Cité des Papes.

This trip will take you past Pont Saint Bénezet (Pont d’Avignon). The first stop is Doms cathedral, then on to the Palais des Papes, the largest gothic palace in France. You will enjoy superb panoramic views over the city of Avignon and the Rhone river.

Return to your family for dinner and night accommodation.

Take French classes in the morning (3 hours with 15min break / From 9am to 12pm).

Lunch on your own.This afternoon take an orientation tour of Montpellier. Discover the historical centre and its 17th and 18th century town houses, the new town and Antigone district. Students will familiarize with the city through a rally photo and practise their French in concrete situations.

Later, board your private motorcoach for a half-day excursion to Nîmes.

Explore the amphitheater, one of the best preserved from the Roman world.

Enjoy some free time to explore the city at your own pace.

After some free time for lunch, you will take part to an afterrnon activity related to your French class and aimed to make you use your new French skills. In team, you will conduct a survey in the city that you will be presenting to your group the following morning. Good luck!

This morning, attend your French Classes (3 hours).

After some free time for lunch, you wil head to Sètes, a peninsula otherwise known as the “Venice of the Languedoc”. From the top of Mont Saint Clair, enjoy the panoramic views of the city and coastline. The trip includes a visit of the church, Paul Valery cemetery, a walk around the harbour and a tasting of the local Frontignanmuscat grape wines. Discover Brassens, a famous singer from Sète.

This morning, attend your French Classes (3 hours).

This afternoon, take part into a cooking workshop lead by a professional French cooker. This will be the opportunity to learn how to realize local specialties. You will then taste what you created!

Have some free time for some last-minute shopping in Montpellier.

Return to your host family for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Today, say a fond “au revoir!” to your exchange partners and transfer by private motorcoach to the airport for your flight back to the USA.
