DAY 1: USA | FRANCE
Fly overnight to Paris, France.
DAY 2: CAEN
Bienvenue en France! Meet your Forum Tour Manager at the airport, then board your private bus to your hotel in Caen, Normandy. The hometown of “William the Conqueror,” Caen is a lively, dynamic, and historical port city.
In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour of Caen with your Tour Manager. Stroll through the Vaugueux quarter to admire the Caen-stone houses dating back to the Middle Ages and visit the lively marina.
Take a guided tour of the Mémorial de Caen, the largest museum in France dedicated to 20th-century history, commemorating in particular World War II, D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
Enjoy dinner with your group at a local restaurant.
DAY 3: DAY TRIP TO NORMANDY BEACHES & BAYEUX
After breakfast at your hotel, visit Omaha beach, the site of the D-Day landings during WWII. As you walk along the sands where Allied forces bravely stormed the shores on June 6, 1944, your group will gain a deeper understanding of the courage and sacrifice that shaped the course of history.
Continue toward Colleville-sur-Mer to visit the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, the first American cemetery established on European soil during World War II.
Lay a wreath of flowers on behalf of your school to pay tribute to the 9,386 fallen American soldiers.
Travel to Bayeux, the town has a stunning historic center as well as its world-famous, UNESCO-listed tapestry depicting the Norman conquest of England in 1066.
Follow your Tour Manager on guided walking tour of Bayeux.
See the famous Tapestry of Bayeux, a 230-ft-long embroidered cloth that depicts the Norman conquest of England and dates back to the 11th century.
Return to Caen and enjoy a meal with your group at a local restaurant.
DAY 4: DAY TRIP TO MONT ST. MICHEL & DOL DE BRETAGNE
After breakfast at your hotel, visit the 1,000-year-old Abbey of Mont Saint-Michel, a masterpiece of medieval architecture built atop a rock island where the powerful tides crash onto the banks between Normandy and Brittany.
In the afternoon, head to the picturesque town of Dol de Bretagne. Take a stroll though the historic center with your Tour Manager and enjoy some time at leisure with your group.
Return to Caen to enjoy a meal with your group at a local restaurant.
DAY 4: DAY TRIP TO ALENÇON
This morning, visit Alençon, a delightful town in the south of Normandy that offers visitors a wealth of historical treasures.
En route, make a stop at the Maison du Camembert. Take a tour of the factory, learn how this world famous cheese is made, and then enjoy a tasting!
Upon arrival in Alençon enjoy a guided walking tour of the town. See the old medieval district, the Château des Ducs, the Halle au blé and many other gems.
Enter the Basilica, featuring one of Normandy’s most beautiful church porches, which has proudly towered above the heart of the city for more than six centuries
Later, visit the Musée des Beaux-Arts et de la Dentelle, housed in an old Jesuit school building since 1857.
Return to Caen to enjoy a meal with your group at a local restaurant.
DAY 6: CAEN | VERSAILLES | PARIS
After breakfast at your hotel, say good-bye to Normandy and depart for Paris.
En route to Paris, stop to visit the extravagant the château de Versailles, where you will walk in the footsteps of French royalty on a guided tour.
Explore the elegant Versailles gardens, a masterpiece of French landscape art filled endless mazes, fountains, and sculptures.
Continue on to Paris and check in to your centrally-located hotel before enjoying a meal with your group at a neighborhood crêperie.
DAY 7: PARIS
After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Musée d’Orsay and view its extensive collection of 19th- and 20th-century art, housed in a beautiful former
railway station.In the afternoon, stroll down the most famous avenue of the capital, the Champs-Élysées, connecting the Arc de Triomphe with the Place de la Concorde
Board a glass-topped “bateau mouche” and enjoy superb views of Paris from the Seine River.
Head to the Parc du Champ-de-Mars and admire the view from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower
Indulge in a delightful flammkueche dinner.
DAY 8: PARIS
This morning, visit the Musée du Louvre, the world’s largest art museum with its famous collection of art and antiquities, including the Mona Lisa and 35,000 other works of art on display in 300 rooms!
Spend some time exploring the Jardin des Tuileries before visiting a local “boulangerie” to learn how French pastries are made and sample a few delights!
In the afternoon, head to the highest point in the city, Montmartre known locally as La Butte. Climb the steps to reach the Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre’s hilltop church and take in the panoramic views of the city.
Enjoy a meal with your group at a local restaurant.
DAY 9: DEPART
After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
