Spanish Language Immersion & Homestay in México
DAY 1: USA | MÉXICO
Fly from the US to Cancún.
¡Bienvenidos a México! Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your Forum Tour Manager and board your private bus to Mérida.
Meet your host families and start your immersion program. While staying with local families, you’ll eat home-cooked meals and practice your Spanish on a daily basis.
Enjoy dinner and your first night with your host family.
DAY 2 – 6 : SPANISH CLASSES & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
After breakfast at home, attend Spanish class in the morning.
Return to your host family for lunch.
Each afternoon, discover Mérida’s cuisine, art, and history through experiential learning activities including:
- Cooking Workshops — Learn how to make a classic Mexican corn tortilla and traditional Mexican hot chocolate.
- Tour the impressive Museo del Mundo Maya with more than 1000 pieces of Mayan heritage on exhibit.
- Practice the rhythm and steps of salsa during a dance workshop.
- Explore the charming historical town of Mérida
Return home for dinner with your host family.
DAY 7 – CHCHEN ITZA | VALLADOLID
This morning, visit the spectacular Mayan ruins of Chichén Itzá. At its peak, the site was home to more than 35,000 people. The Temple of Kukulcan is the most iconic structure but there are many other pyramids and fascinating buildings to explore.
Stop for lunch at a traditional hacienda then cool off in a cenote, an underground natural water spring. Swim and snorkel in the calm, transparent, shallow waters.
This afternoon visit Valladolid. Known as a Pueblo Mágico, the city is steeped in Mayan and colonial history. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the city and visit the 16th Century Palacio Municipal .
Return to your host families in Mérida.
Dinner and night accommodation with your host family.
DAY 8 – DEPART
Enjoy a final breakfast with your host family before you say good-bye.
Transfer by coach from Mérida to the airport in Cancún.
Board your flight and return to the US.
