Immerse your students in French-Canadian culture during this 7-day language immersion and homestay program in Québec City. Students spend their mornings in French classes at Edu-inter and their evenings with local host families, giving them regular opportunities to use French in everyday situations. The week also includes a local school visit, a Québécois cooking workshop, a traditional sugar shack experience, Huron-Wendat cultural activities, and a cruise on the St. Lawrence River.

DAY 1: USA | QUÉBEC CITY
  • Travel to Québec City, one of North America’s oldest cities, where cobblestone streets, fortified walls and French heritage come together.

  • Upon arrival, meet your Forum Tour Manager and transfer to Edu-inter.

  • Meet your Immersion Coordinator for an introduction to the program, including the schedule, expectations and planned activities.

  • Complete a French placement test and receive your local bus pass. During the program, students will use public transportation to travel between their host families and the language school.

  • Meet your host family and begin experiencing daily life in a French-speaking Québécois home.

  • Dinner and overnight accommodation with your host family.

DAY 2: QUÉBEC CITY
  • Have breakfast with your host family and travel to the language school.

  • Attend morning French language classes.

  • Enjoy traditional Québécois cuisine for lunch at Aux Anciens Canadiens.

  • Take a guided walking tour of Old Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk along Rue Saint-Louis and see the city’s historic fortifications.

  • Explore the charming Quartier Petit-Champlain.

  • Return to your host family for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 3: QUÉBEC CITY
  • Have breakfast with your host family and travel to the language school.

  • Attend morning French language classes.

  • Visit a local French-speaking high school, tour the school and practice French with local students.

  • Have lunch with your new peers in the school cafeteria.

  • Visit the Plains of Abraham for the Les Batailles exhibition. Learn about the Seven Years’ War, the siege of Québec and the battles that shaped the city’s history through exhibits and an immersive presentation.

  • Return to your host family for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 4: QUÉBEC CITY
  • Have breakfast with your host family and travel to the language school.

  • Attend morning French language classes.

  • Participate in a traditional Québécois cooking workshop and enjoy your creation for lunch.

  • Visit the Québec Circus School for the Allons au Cirque workshop. Learn techniques such as juggling, trampolining and unicycling with trained instructors. This activity is subject to availability.

  • Return to your host family for dinner and overnight accommodation.

DAY 5: QUÉBEC CITY
  • Have breakfast with your host family and travel to the language school.

  • Attend morning French language classes.

  • Board your private coach and visit a traditional cabane à sucre, or sugar shack.

  • Enjoy an authentic lumberjack lunch followed by traditional songs and dancing led by a local musician.

  • Take a guided tour of the Huron Traditional Site Onhoüa Chetek8e, a reconstructed Huron-Wendat village where members of the Nation share their history, traditions and ways of life. During your visit, participate in traditional Indigenous games and a fur-craft workshop.

  • Return to the language school before travelling back to your host family.

  • Dinner and overnight accommodation with your host family.

DAY 6: QUÉBEC CITY
  • Have breakfast with your host family and travel to the language school.

  • Attend morning French language classes.

  • Enjoy a crêpe lunch at Au Petit Coin Breton.

  • Visit Le Bunker de la Science for an immersive scientific experience that combines teamwork, problem-solving and hands-on discovery.

  • Finish the day with music and dancing during a disco cruise on the St. Lawrence River.

  • Return to your host family for your final overnight accommodation.

DAY 7: QUÉBEC CITY | USA
  • Have breakfast with your host family.

  • Say “merci et au revoir” and travel to the language school.

  • Reunite with your group and begin your return journey home.
